According to a report published on the ICC website on November 22, the court requested North Korea to provide documents in April this year, but has not received a response. Therefore, the ICC will continue to collect relevant documents and consider the decision to investigate.

The ICC has been conducting a two-year preliminary investigation to determine whether the sinking of the Cheonan and the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island in 2010 constituted war crimes.

The ICC will begin a formal investigation after collecting sufficient evidence in the preliminary investigation and upon the approval of the investigation by the judicial division./.
