Dressed in dark clothes, a floppy hat and a scarf, Cristina went down the longest underground tunnel recognized as a record in Asia to directly experience the living conditions and hardships of the Vietnamese people. She may have become the first female president in the world to have this special experience in Cu Chi.

Speaking to the Argentine press accompanying the visit, Ms. Cristina spoke about what she witnessed at Cu Chi.it can be nothing else butlove of country and also love of peace, because no one loves his country and likes war.

Sign the notebook before ending the tour, President Cristina wrote: "Thank you to the Vietnamese people for allowing me to have ahuman and political experiencesand a unique and unrepeatable society. Congratulations to the Vietnamese people for their courage, bravery, patriotism and love of peace, because love of country is love of peace. Vietnam is a proof that the combination oflove of peace, faith, love and courage create endless strength".

President Cristina also shared her impressions of the tour in Cu Chi as well as at the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City with her fans via the social networking site Twitter.

The visit to the Cu Chi tunnels reminded Cristina of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez’s advice when visiting Vietnam to meet the legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap, who commanded the Vietnam People’s Army to defeat two great empires, France and the United States. She affirmed that if she had the chance to meet the General, it would be a unique memory.
