On the afternoon of February 4 (December 24), the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Thanh commune organized a Tet "For the Poor" for poor households in the whole commune. Mr. Hoang Danh Tam, in hamlet 1, has a son named Tinh, who has a congenital disease. Due to poor health, he was unable to go, so he came to receive gifts on behalf of his son.

Mr. Tam said: "Every year the commune organizes Tet "For the poor", the family is very excited, because this is a great source of encouragement for the less fortunate and their families". Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue, hamlet 4, could not hide her excitement, confided: "My mother and I have been poor since the past, every time Tet comes, the commune invites us to the hall to receive gifts, I am very happy. This afternoon, my mother has money, my children have new clothes to celebrate Tet with the village". Each person has a different situation, today, everyone's face is cheerful, receiving joy, even though this is just a small encouragement.
According to the report of Lang Thanh commune, the whole commune currently has 92 beneficiaries receiving gifts during this Tet holiday. The gifts include warm blankets, clothes and money. The district Red Cross Society donated blankets, the district Fatherland Front donated money; in addition, the commune also allocated 17 million VND from the budget and the For Love Fund to buy warm clothes. Mr. Tran Van Giang - Chairman of the commune People's Committee, said: Previously, the commune slaughtered pigs to give to families in especially difficult circumstances, families with less fortunate people to have meat for Tet. For the past 3 years, the commune has organized Tet "For the poor", although the gifts are small, they have great meaning, showing the concern of the Party and government for the less fortunate when the whole country is eagerly celebrating the New Year.
