Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Directive on organizing Lunar New Year celebrations in 2013

On January 18, 2013, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) issuedDirectiveon organizing the Lunar New Year celebration in 2013.

The Directive aims to contribute to serving the people of the whole country and cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the Culture, Sports, and Tourism sector to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2013 joyfully, safely, and economically, creating an atmosphere of competition in production to achieve the socio-economic development goals of 2013.

Accordingly, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests heads of agencies and units under the Ministry, Directors of Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and centrally run cities to direct and organize the implementation of the following tasks:

Thoroughly grasp and strictly implement Directive No. 21-CT/TW dated December 21, 2012 of the Central Party Secretariat on promoting thrift practice and combating waste; Directive No. 30/CT-TTg dated November 26, 2012 of the Prime Minister on strengthening thrift practice and combating waste; Official Dispatch No. 3766-CV/BTGTW dated January 11, 2013 of the Central Propaganda Department on directing cultural and artistic activities in the Spring of Quy Ty 2013; Directive No.14/CT-BVHTTDLdated January 9, 2013 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on strengthening the implementation of thrift and combating waste in the use of the state budget at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Instruct people, agencies and offices to hang the national flag during Tet. Propagate and instruct people to practice civilized lifestyle according to State regulations.

Strengthen direction and guidance to organize cultural, sports and tourism activities well, pay attention to recreational activities for children.

Strengthening propaganda and inspection of the implementation of Directive 46-CT/TW of the Secretariat (9th tenure) on preventing the infiltration of harmful cultural products that destroy social morality; Decree No. 79/ND-CP dated October 5, 2012 on performing arts, fashion shows; beauty and model contests, circulation and trading of audio and video recordings of music, dance and theater; Directive No. 65/CT-BVHTTDL dated April 16, 2012 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on rectifying the organization of performing arts and fashion shows.

Performing arts units organize New Year's Eve art performances and tours to serve the people before, during and after Tet, with priority given to performances serving compatriots and soldiers in border areas, islands, revolutionary bases, former war zones, remote rural areas.

Film units provide sources of feature films, documentaries, and children's films shown in theaters, increasing the number of Vietnamese film screenings.Male, especially on the subject of revolutionary war.

Museums and historical and cultural relics display thematic exhibitions on national cultural identity, the Party, Uncle Ho, the revolutionary struggle and achievements in national renovation, and are regularly open to serve the people. Strengthen the organization of traditional art performances and folk performances in the locality.

Libraries organize Book Festivals to promote books and reading culture. The system of cultural - information - exhibition centers nationwide organizes spring fairs and exhibitions.

The press agencies of the Industry have well implemented the propaganda plan, publishing special issues with columns celebrating the Party and Spring.

Sports units organize sports competitions, focusing on folk games and ethnic sports. Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces/cities direct and organize sports activities "Celebrating the Party, Celebrating Spring"Quy Ty 2013 according to the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 21/BVHTTDL-TCTDTT dated January 4, 2013 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces/cities shall coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen the work of ensuring security and safety for tourists, and have effective solutions to prevent and combat robberies and soliciting tourists.

Hotels, accommodation establishments, and tourism service businesses must ensure food safety and hygiene; implement solutions to improve service quality, prevent price increases, and price gouging on tourists.

Regarding the organization of Tet celebrations in agencies and units of the Industry: Organize Tet greetings for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers at the workplace and visit veteran cadres and retired cadres. Do not organize Tet greetings to agencies and units. Strictly prohibit the use of State money and assets or assets from the budget for parties, receptions, rewards, gifts, and donations; do not use public vehicles for personal purposes. Maintain the Tet duty regime at the agency, ensure safety, and prevent and fight fires and explosions in the workplace.../.
