(Baonghean) -In the teaching equipment room of schools, there are many types of maps to serve the teaching work. For high school students, each student must equip himself with a Geography Atlas to serve his study. Looking at the world map, students know their country, looking at the Map of Vietnam, the Geography Atlas, students learn and know many things about the Fatherland along with the graduation exam and university, college.
When talking to a Geography teacher about teaching materials, she said that at home she has equipped herself with a Geography Globe, a world map and a map of Vietnam. She emphasized that she is not only equipping them for herself but also to educate her daughter to know where Vietnam is and to be proud of her Fatherland. If the map is too old, she will replace it with a new one. Her daughter also loves and learns about the Geography Globe and maps. Not only Geography teachers are conscious of equipping these materials, many other teachers also buy maps of Vietnam and the world to display in their children's study corners. This contributes to educating pride and understanding of Vietnam. Many people are very happy to know that many students can know the national flags, capitals, areas, populations, etc. of many countries and know clearly about their Fatherland. This is due to the habit of studying maps.
Many teachers of Geography and National Defense and Security Education give students an assignment to sketch a map of Vietnam, but many students do not know how to draw it. Even though the teacher draws a sample on the board, there are still some students who are clumsy and cannot sketch their Fatherland. After investigation, we found out that they do not have a map, or have an Atlas but do not study it. In their study corner, there are many pictures of famous bands, singers, actors, idols... from elementary school until now, and they are replaced by time and taste. These same students are very attentive when hearing information about maritime disputes between countries, including our country. A sad thing is that many students' knowledge of Vietnam's mainland is weak, and their knowledge of the East Sea is even weaker.
Refer to the price at the textbook and teaching equipment company on Le Hong Phong street for a world map with a scale of 1: 33,500,000 for 28,000 VND, a Vietnam map with a scale of 1: 2,200,000 for 32,000 VND, and a Geography globe for 240,000 VND. It is thought that every family should equip their students with a map of Vietnam and the world in their study corner, depending on the space to choose the type of map with the appropriate scale, along with educating them in the habit of learning and paying attention to the map. Maps at school are only used during certain class hours, maps at home will be attached and convenient for them. Buying a map may be a small thing but it has great significance for educating students in patriotism, national pride and self-respect.
