(Baonghean)Throughout his 30 years of service in the police force, including over 20 years as the team leader of the traffic police team in Nghia Dan district, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Canh Hoang consistently performed well in advising the unit's leadership and the District Traffic Safety Committee on basic investigation, prevention, and reduction of traffic accidents in the area. In 2004, he retired and lives in Tay Ho I block, Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town.
During his tenure, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Canh Hoang regularly directed police officers in his team to implement plans to strengthen traffic control; closely coordinate with functional units to ensure and maintain security and order, ensure good traffic safety on the route, and improve the quality and effectiveness of handling violations. The route under the team's responsibility consistently saw a decrease in all three criteria: the number of accidents, the number of deaths, and the number of injuries.
In addition, during their time in service, the team uncovered hundreds of criminal cases. These achievements of him and his colleagues have been commended by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Police Department.
Mr. Nguyen Canh Hoang proposed the content for traffic safety awareness campaigns within the group.
However, when asked about his most memorable experience during his time in service, the former team leader recounted a different "heroic deed": In July 1996 (when he was working at the Provincial Traffic Police Department), as usual, he was patrolling the Yen Ly - Hoang Mai route with his team. When they reached a section of road in Dien Yen commune (Dien Chau district), they spotted a child, about 3 years old, struggling and about to drown. He quickly jumped in, found the child, pulled him to shore, and took him to the hospital in a police car, saving the child's life.
In early 1998, the State invested in expanding Provincial Road 545. Mr. Hoang's family voluntarily contributed money to concrete 105 square meters of sidewalk, and also encouraged many other families to do the same. By May 2012, when the People's Committee of Thai Hoa Town decided to clear and expand the corridor of Road 545, his family took the lead in dismantling their fence and donating more than 15 square meters of frontage land to build a green, clean, and beautiful urban traffic route. He also actively propagated and encouraged people to comply with the clearance of the traffic safety corridor, thus spreading the movement throughout the block, and stabilizing the traffic culture in Tay Ho I block.
With his continuous efforts and contributions to building transportation infrastructure and ensuring traffic safety in the locality, in August 2012, Mr. Nguyen Canh Hoang was honored to be one of 171 delegates nationwide to attend the Conference to commend outstanding individuals in the movement to build and ensure traffic safety, organized by the National Traffic Safety Committee. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Transport for his outstanding achievements in transportation infrastructure development and ensuring traffic safety and order!
