Vietnam sends condolences to Venezuela

On March 6, leaders of the Party, State and Government sent condolences to the Party, State, Government and people of Venezuela on the passing of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias on March 5.



General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung sent condolences to First Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Diosdado Cabello, and Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro on the passing of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias on March 5.

In the condolence message, the Vietnamese leaders sent their deepest condolences to the Party, State, Government and people of Venezuela and the family of President Hugo Chavez Frias, expressing their belief that the country and people of Venezuela will soon overcome the loss and continue to achieve many great achievements; the comprehensive friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela will continue to develop for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and cooperation in the two regions and the world.

On the same day, a delegation representing the leaders of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam led by Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai left for Venezuela to attend the official funeral of President Hugo Chavez Frias held by the Venezuelan Government on March 8.


Also on March 6, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent a message of condolences to Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua.
