Two students died after going swimming in the river together.

(Baonghean.vn) - At 8:00 AM on May 23rd, a drowning accident occurred in the Hoang Mai River, in the section belonging to Hamlet 11, Quynh Trang Commune, Quynh Luu District, resulting in the deaths of two children, Cao Thi Linh (born in 2001) and Bui Thi Anh (born in 2000), residents of Hamlet 4, Quynh Vinh Commune.

According to Mr. Ho Van Phan from Hamlet 4, Quynh Vinh Commune, the incident occurred early in the morning when seven students from Quynh Vinh Secondary School went to the Hoi Chau section of the Hoang Mai River in Quynh Trang Commune to swim. However, while swimming, three of the students unfortunately slipped into a deep area of ​​water and were swept away by the current.



Upon discovering the incident, Le Thi Huong, one of the seven children swimming together, ran home and called Mr. Ho Van Phan to come to the river to rescue three of the children. While Mr. Phan was on his way from his house to the river, a man named Duc, who was trapping birds nearby, quickly jumped in and rescued Tran Thi Lien (born in 2001). When Mr. Phan arrived, he jumped in again to rescue the remaining two children. After a while of searching, Mr. Phan found Bui Thi Anh and brought her ashore. Despite all efforts to provide first aid and artificial respiration, Anh died from drowning.

At around 8:30 AM the same day, residents continued their search and found the body of Cao Thi Linh. After the incident, relatives brought the bodies of Cao Thi Linh and Bui Thi Anh home to prepare for the funeral./.
