The Voice Kids is about to air on television

The new music playground for 9-15 year olds is about to enter the Blind Audition round. However, to prepare the contestants and coaches mentally, the program's organizers have organized a psychology class specifically for the coaches, with the hope that the coaches will have the appropriate approach and behavior towards children at an age considered "rebellious".

The class was conducted under the consultation of Associate Professor - Doctor of Psychology Huynh Van Son (Ho Chi Minh City University of Education). Doctor Huynh Van Son is also a psychologist who will accompany the program to solve psychological problems that the young contestants will encounter during their participation in the program. In addition to the presence of coaches Hien Thuc, Thanh Bui and coach Luu Huong Giang and her husband, the class also had the participation of two MCs Tran Thanh and Thanh Thao.

Based on the explanations of Dr. Huynh Van Son, the coaches have grasped the basic knowledge of the psychology of adolescents. From there, based on hypothetical situations when having to interact and work with young candidates, the coaches must come up with their own ways of handling the situation. After that, Dr. Huynh Van Son will analyze and guide the coaches on how to best handle the situation.

Dr. Huynh Van Son believes that the 9-15 age group is the age group that often encounters psychological problems, they are often strongly influenced by friends and often experience sexual vibrations, so coaches must always be the ones to reassure and find ways to adjust for them during the competition. In addition, coaches must not completely depend on old psychological theories to apply to children because reality has changed greatly. In addition, Dr. Son also noted that when working directly with children in this age group, conflicts can also occur between the coach and the children.

Agreeing with Dr. Huynh Van Son, coach Thanh Bui said: "Sometimes the different thinking between children and adults can also cause conflicts", while coach Ho Hoai Anh also shared his concerns when working with young "students": "Ho Hoai Anh himself is a bit hot-tempered, Ho Hoai Anh also used to teach vocal music at school and sometimes could not avoid conflicts with the children. However, the main rule is still to respect the children".

Coach Luu Huong Giang also shared: “What Giang worries most is that she is only with the children for a short time, but the way of thinking about music requires a long-standing foundation, it is very difficult to change children in such a period of time. Sometimes the way children choose songs and listen to music is also influenced by their family, Giang worries that children will not listen and not obey her if their parents also do not obey her.”

According to Dr. Huynh Van Son, it is necessary to build relationships based on respect and democracy when interacting with children. In addition, coaches need to be tactful in their praise and criticism because children's reactions to reception are different, because their starting points are not the same.

The first episode of The Voice Kids will premiere nationwide at 9pm on June 1 on VTV3.
