Although the content of the meeting has not been disclosed, it is widely believed that Seoul will focus on discussing the possibility of North Korea conducting a nuclear test and South Korea's countermeasures.

Previously, South Korean officials stated that North Korea was ready to conduct a nuclear test at any time. This threat of a nuclear test came shortly after the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution expanding sanctions against the country in connection with its December 2012 satellite launch.
