During the 5 days of the Blois Meeting (May 26 - May 31), delegates listened to about 30 scientific reports covering many different research fields such as applied physics, astronomy, and biology.

In particular, on the afternoon of May 30, delegates listened to Professor Tran Thanh Van present the project to build an "International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education" with a scale of 18.4 hectares in Ghenh Rang ward, Quy Nhon city, Vietnam, with a total investment of about 6 million USD.

Major sub-projects include an international conference center with modern equipment, a high-rise resort, an entertainment area, a library, and a laboratory.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung highly appreciated the organization and significance of the "Blois Meeting," a forum of prestigious physics scientists organized by Professor Tran Thanh Van in France for the past 25 years.

According to the Ambassador, this is a “valuable opportunity” for Vietnamese scientists and famous international scientists to meet and exchange different research experiences to “weave effective cooperation” in the field of scientific research between Vietnam, France and other countries in the world.

The Ambassador said that when the “International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education” in Quy Nhon is inaugurated and put into operation, expected in August 2013, it will become a prestigious international conference center, attracting the participation of leading physicists and scientists from around the world to Vietnam.

Professor Tran Thanh Van said this is a center of "great significance" in expanding the research and scientific exchange environment, training potential young scientists in Vietnam.

The establishment of this Center is also in line with the country's policy of strengthening scientific and technological research and international coordination to effectively organize scientific research activities.

Ambassador Duong Chi Dung also had a working session with Mr. Marc Gricourt and Ms. Odile Soules, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Blois city.

The two sides discussed future projects to further strengthen cooperation between Blois and Hue city of mutual interest such as preserving cultural heritage, protecting the environment, and organizing Vietnam Day in Blois.
