Coach Hoang Van Phuc is the interim coach of the Vietnam national team.
According to a private source of Thethaovanhoa.vn, VFF has completed agreements with coach Hoang Van Phuc as well as the Hanoi T&T Youth Club for this coach to become the interim coach of the Vietnam national team.
Mr. Phuc was once invited by VFF to become the full-time coach of the Vietnam national team after coach Phan Thanh Hung resigned, but nearly a month ago, coach Hoang Van Phuc was still busy at the Hanoi T&T Youth Club.
Furthermore, the VFF's specialized requirements do not make this coach interested.

This time, after a series of rejections from different coaches in the Central region, the South and the North, VFF was forced to "reduce the criteria" and only ask for a temporary coach for the team in the first two matches of the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers and return to candidate Hoang Van Phuc.
After two days of thinking, coach Hoang Van Phuc nodded in agreement.
Coach Hoang Van Phuc's acceptance as interim coach of the Vietnam national team helps the VFF temporarily relieve the burden from the deadlock in the search for a head coach for the Vietnam national team.
Coach Hoang Van Phuc himself, when asked, affirmed, "Salary is not an important issue. The players and I will try to play well in the upcoming matches of the Vietnam team. If everything goes well, I want to work long-term for the team and am ready to join the coaching staff and be an assistant to a foreign coach in the near future."
Coach Hoang Van Phuc accepting to be the interim coach of the Vietnam national team is also suitable for the criteria of rejuvenating the team in 2013.
At the same time, the opportunity for players in the U22 National team who fought alongside him at the BTV Cup to be called up to the national team is quite bright.
On January 23, the Vietnamese team will enter the first training session and tomorrow, Coach Hoang Van Phuc and the National Teams Department, the General Secretariat will work to select about 23 players from the preliminary list of 50 players to enter the training session in mid-January.
Coach Hoang Van Phuc was born in 1964 and is currently the head coach of the Hanoi T&T Youth Club. In his coaching career, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc is known as a coach with many achievements for youth teams. Specifically, Coach Hoang Van Phuc led the Vietnam U16 team to win the Southeast Asian Championship in 2008 and 2010, and led the Vietnam U19 team to win a ticket to the 2011 Asian Finals. Most recently, Coach Hoang Van Phuc helped the Vietnam U22 team win the runner-up position in the Binh Duong Television Cup International Football Tournament.
The Vietnamese team is expected to gather on January 23 in Hanoi. After that, coach Hoang Van Phuc and his team will play a friendly match with Hyundai Mipo Dolphin Club (South Korea) at Hang Day Stadium on January 31, before officially entering the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers.
