Preparing for the 1,300th anniversary celebration of the Hoan Chau Uprising and the Mai King Temple Festival

(Baonghean) - According to the plan, this year's Mai King Temple Festival will be held from February 22 to 24 (ie from January 13 to 15 of the lunar calendar). In addition to the solemn and respectful ceremony according to traditional rituals including the proclamation ceremony, the procession ceremony, the great sacrifice ceremony and the thanksgiving ceremony, the festival also promises to have many rich and attractive contents.

In particular, on the night of the 14th day of the first lunar month, the opening ceremony of the 1,300th anniversary of the Hoan Chau uprising was directed, staged, organized by the Vietnam Event Organization Center and broadcast live on Vietnam Television. In addition, folk games and cultural activities for young people were held at three main locations: the King Mai temple yard, the King Mai tomb area and the tomb area of ​​Mai Hac De's mother. To ensure the success of the festival, the Nam Dan District Party Committee and People's Committee focused on leading, directing and mobilizing the active participation of all levels and sectors, especially localities with historical relics related to Mai Hac De and the Hoan Chau uprising such as the Town, Van Dien Commune, Nam Thai, Nam Thuong to prepare all conditions for a grand ceremony with a great scale and significance, opening the 2013 festival season of the whole province to be a great success.
