(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of July 2, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to launch a communication campaign to mobilize the community to respond to Patriotic Hygiene Day on July 2.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long - Deputy Minister of Health, representatives of ministries, departments, branches, unions and social organizations of the Central Government, representatives of the Department of Health, the Center for Preventive Medicine and the Health Trade Union from 28 provinces and cities in the North. On the provincial side, there were Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches, localities and more than 200 delegates representing the people of Nam Dan district, students.

With the theme of 2013 "Community joins hands to build and use hygienic toilets", the propaganda activities of the movement "Patriotic Hygiene to improve people's health" will be based on inheriting, promoting, gathering, expanding and improving the quality of movements, community health activities, environmental and health activities being carried out in localities, relying on the masses to promote the strength of the whole people and implement the policy of socializing hygiene activities.

In Nghe An, due to the impact of many different factors such as geography, climate, economy and backward customs in hygienic living in many rural and mountainous areas, currently only 46.5% of families in the whole province have hygienic toilets, 66.5% of the rural population uses clean water, many old diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid tend to return.
At the ceremony, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, unions, and social organizations need to strengthen propaganda work to create fundamental changes in awareness for each person, each family, each locality; strengthen coordination between local departments and branches to unify direction and effectively integrate resources of programs, introduce indicators on the use of hygienic toilets to propose to add to the criteria for evaluating emulation to consider recognition of "Cultural agency", "Cultural village", "cultural family"...
After the launching ceremony, the summer volunteer campaign of teachers and students of Vinh Medical University took place, organizing free medical examination and treatment for people in the commune; distributing free soap; and disseminating and advising people on disease prevention hygiene (washing hands with soap, building and using hygienic toilets, etc.).
