Comprehensive inspection of Vietnam Airlines ticket sales
The inspection was initiated after the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam received many comments from domestic and international passengers reflecting that their rights were affected when purchasing Vietnam Airlines tickets.
Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, said that this agency is coordinating with the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport to conduct a survey to prepare for a comprehensive inspection of Vietnam Airlines' ticket sales activities domestically and internationally.

According to Mr. Thanh, this inspection was initiated after receiving many complaints from domestic and international passengers when purchasing Vietnam Airlines tickets.
“The overseas air ticket sales system shows that Vietnam Airlines does not treat agents equally. There are cases where people buy full tickets but when they get to the airport they are told that there are no seats, or they buy tickets but cannot travel so they have to spend more money to buy another ticket to catch the flight, or there are many cases where passengers cannot book tickets but when they board the plane they see that there are still many empty seats,” said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, the inspection will focus on the core issue of whether the ticketing system really ensures the rights of passengers.
