180 elderly people received free medical examinations and medication.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of July 6th, at the Quỳnh Giang commune health station, the Quỳnh Lưu District Fatherland Front Committee, in coordination with the District's Elderly Association, organized free medical examinations and dispensed free medicine to elderly people in particularly difficult circumstances in the commune.

Fifteen elderly people in particularly difficult circumstances in the area received free medical examinations, nutritional supplements, and health advice from staff at the Quynh Giang commune health station, especially regarding common diseases among the elderly such as high blood pressure, diabetes, eye problems, osteoporosis, body aches, and cardiovascular diseases. They were also given information and guidance on methods to proactively prevent common illnesses.

This is a practical activity to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Elderly (June 6, 1941 – June 6, 2013) and to respond to the campaign "the whole society cares for and promotes the role of the elderly".

Reportedly, on this occasion, 180 elderly people in 11 communes of Quynh Luu district, including Quynh Giang, Quynh My, Quynh Lam, Quynh Hoa, Quynh Thuan, Quynh Tho, Quynh Thach, Quynh Hau, Quynh Yen, Quynh Doi, and Quynh Thanh, received free medical examinations and nutritional supplements, with a total value of 36 million VND, averaging nearly 200,000 VND per person. This funding was drawn from the district's fund for the poor.
