July 10th opening of the 19th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

The 19th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee is scheduled to take place from July 10-12.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the draft Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 228/1999/NQ-UBTVQH10 on National Assembly deputies receiving citizens, receiving, transferring petitions, urging, and monitoring the settlement of complaints, denunciations, and petitions of citizens; Resolution No. 694/2008/NQ-UBTVQH12 on receiving, classifying, and handling complaints, denunciations, and petitions of citizens sent to the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, and the National Assembly Committees.

During this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also evaluate the results of the 5th session of the 13th National Assembly and give initial opinions on preparations for the 6th session of the 13th National Assembly.

The National Assembly Standing Committee will also approve the Project on renovating the National Assembly Office to improve the quality and efficiency of operations and the Resolution amending and supplementing Resolution No. 417/2003/NQ-UBTVQH11 dated October 1, 2003 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the National Assembly Office.

In addition, the meeting also gave opinions on the Proposal of the Supreme People's Procuracy requesting approval of the establishment, adjustment and addition of names of a number of units under the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Regarding law-making, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the Ordinance amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Ordinance on management and use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools; on a number of important issues, with different opinions on the draft Law on Bidding (amended); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting; and Law on practicing thrift and combating waste (amended).

The National Assembly Standing Committee also voted to pass the Ordinance amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Ordinance on management and use of weapons, explosives and support tools./.
