The art performances clearly expressed the cultural values of the ethnic groups, harmoniously combining sound and light, bringing impressive and unforgettable moments.

The opening performance, titled “Remembering Our Homeland”, rekindled the 4,000-year tradition of building and defending the country. Images of bronze drums, cranes, banh chung (square glutinous rice cakes), banh giay (rice cakes), and the heroic soldiers of Au Lac were recreated in solemn music, creating a space imbued with traditional colors, carrying the proud spirit of building and defending the country from the Van Lang period.

The "Country Patterns" performances recreate the unique cultural features of Vietnamese ethnic groups, through songs, dances, and original customs and practices, creating diverse and rich colors.

The grand picture of the great national unity of Vietnam is recreated through a series of performances bearing the unique mark of each ethnic group. Like going on a tour across the country, the songs: “Non song gam mat”, “Hay xoe cung em”... take the audience to admire the revolutionary historical heritages, the white ban flowers blooming all over the mountains and forests of the Northwest, the festival nights, xoe hoops, the sound of the Khen... the stilt houses hidden on the rocky plateau, under the terraced fields...

Coming to the ethnic groups in the Central Coast are fan dances, conical hat dances, scarf dances... in harmony with the sounds of Ghi-nang drums, Paranung drums, and the jubilant Saranai trumpets in the Kate festival of the Cham people; through the space of gong culture of the Central Highlands with dances and flickering fires around the pole under the stilt houses of the Choro ethnic group.

Going down to the South, the traditional singing performances “Ve mien Tay”, “Da co Hoai Lang”... help the audience understand more about the cultural exchanges of the Kinh, Hoa, Cham, Khmer ethnic groups in their daily life on the river, the long rivers, boats full of fruits, rice traded back and forth, the fluttering flaps of Ba Ba dresses, clusters of water hyacinth floating on the river... sitting together every night listening to the beautiful, delicate, soaring melodies of the affectionate vọng cổ verses with the sound of the đàn kim, the rhythm of the song loan...

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh stated: Exactly 5 years ago, the Prime Minister decided to choose April 19 every year as "Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day" to honor the cultural values of 54 ethnic groups and strengthen the strength of national solidarity.
