At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee awarded 6 first prizes, each consisting of a computer worth 10 million VND, to high-achieving students in grades 5, 9, and 11 from the provinces of Bac Giang (2 students), Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Phu Yen, and Ninh Binh, along with supplementary prizes for the top 40 leading students.
With over 12 million members participating on the website:www.ViOlympic.vnThe ViOlympic competition for the 2012-2013 school year was considered a success, witnessing a record number of participants. With 19 rounds, ViOlympic reached over 1,000 districts across 63 provinces and cities nationwide. In particular, the program's many innovations, both in format and content, have made students increasingly enthusiastic about this leading mathematics competition in Vietnam.
The two new question formats, "Golden Frog Catching the Ball" and "Peak of Wisdom," have enriched the content of this year's ViOlympic competition. In addition, the exam questions for each round were meticulously designed, resulting in high differentiation and comprehensive coverage of the curriculum at all levels.
With technological support from FPT University – the co-organizer – the competition has improved the method of generating codes for all important rounds from the district/county level, increasing the security of this year's competition.
In the 2012-2013 academic year, ViOlympic collaborated with sponsors Samsung and FPT Telecom for the first time to organize a series of side activities such as the ViOlympic Festival and accompanying events in more than 20 provinces and cities from North to South, including Hanoi, Da Nang, Bac Giang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Tre, Long An, Vung Tau, etc. Thanks to this, ViOlympic transformed the online intellectual competition into an interactive playground between technology, the internet, and practical applications for participating students.
Officially launched in 2008 with only 800,000 members, ViOlympic has now attracted over 12 million members in its five years of development, becoming a common playground for math-loving students nationwide. Furthermore, ViOlympic has opened a new direction for applying information technology in schools to unleash potential and nurture a passion for learning mathematics among students. Above all, ViOlympic has helped students become familiar with the internet and learn how to use it as a useful learning tool.
