Vietnam wins Gold Medal at the Informatics Olympiad.
According to the official results announced by the Organizing Committee of the 2013 Asian Informatics Olympiad on May 21, 2013, the Vietnamese team had 5 students winning awards, including 1 Gold Medal, 1 Silver Medal, and 3 Bronze Medals.

A representative from the Department of Examination and Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education and Training, stated: The Gold Medal was awarded to Vu Dinh Quang Dat, a 12th-grade student from the Specialized High School, Faculty of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Nguyen Phan Quang Minh, an 11th-grade student from Nguyen Trai Specialized High School in Hai Duong province, won a Silver Medal.
Students Nguyen Duc Nam (12th grade, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi City), Thai Dinh Phuc (12th grade, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province), and Pham Thai Son (11th grade, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi University of Education) all won Bronze Medals.
According to the Examination Department, based on the results provided by the Organizing Committee of the 2013 Asian Informatics Olympiad, only 5 countries had students who won Gold Medals. Based on the (unofficial) medal ranking, the Vietnamese team ranked 4th overall out of 21 participating countries with over 500 contestants.
Previously, a delegation of Vietnamese officials and students participated in the 2013 Asian Informatics Olympiad held in Singapore on May 11, 2013 (the competition was held online at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
