For continuing education (junior and senior high school), there must be at least 32 weeks of actual schooling (each semester having at least 16 weeks).

The Ministry of Education and Training requires that the school year schedule be consistent with the natural, social conditions and customs of the locality.

Public holidays are observed according to the provisions of the Labor Law. If a public holiday falls on a weekend, a compensatory day off will be granted on the following working day.
