Ceremony to bring martyrs' remains back to their hometowns

On the morning of July 15, at the Do Luong District Martyrs' Cemetery, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command held a ceremony to send off the remains of 14 martyrs with their names and hometowns to 6 northern provinces and cities. Attending and sending off the martyrs to their homeland were representatives of the Military Commission, the IV Military Region Command, the Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An, the Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee of the departments, branches and unions of Do Luong District and relatives of the martyrs' families.

During the dry season of 2012-2013, through the search and collection of martyrs' remains in Laos, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team - Nghe An Provincial Military Command searched and collected 168 sets of martyrs' remains who died in the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane. Of these, 14 martyrs had their names and hometowns identified, including 7 martyrs from Hanoi, 2 martyrs from Vinh Phuc, 2 martyrs from Hai Phong, 1 martyr from Nam Dinh, 1 martyr from Hung Yen and 1 martyr from Thai Nguyen.

Up to now, the Military Region 4 Command has collected 24,110 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Laos; organized 10 handovers of 1,898 remains of martyrs whose names and hometowns have been identified. The Provincial Military Command alone has collected 12,028 remains of martyrs and organized the handover of 969 remains of martyrs to localities. Thereby, contributing to the whole country in solving the military rear policy well and demonstrating the morality of remembering the source of water when drinking water.
