The success of the daring carpenter

(Baonghean) -Coming from a poor family, parishioner Dau Thanh, residing in Dien Thinh commune (Dien Chau), overcame to establish a large business specializing in carpentry and manufacturing, creating jobs for many local workers.

Dau Thanh was born in 1972 in a family of 9 children. Growing up, Thanh worked as a sawyer and carpenter in Quy Hop and Quy Chau districts. He was skillful and eager to learn, so his skills gradually improved. In 1996, with his savings, Thanh decided to open a carpentry shop in his hometown. His wooden products were durable, beautiful, and reasonably priced, so they were loved by customers.

After years of struggling and accumulating experience, in 2003 he boldly expanded his carpentry production facility with an area of ​​1000m2, invested over 4 billion VND with modern machinery and equipment, such as: planers, saws, floorboard machines, wood drying kilns... This facility alone creates jobs for over 20 workers. The workshop began to produce high-end carpentry products and dominate the domestic market such as Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City... To facilitate transactions, Thanh also built a "supermarket" to introduce and promote products right at his home, always attracting many people to come and see the goods, cars from all over to pick up the goods busily.

Mr. Thanh said: I do not "put the profits from the carpentry business in my stomach" but continue to invest in regeneration. In 2012, I built another carpentry workshop with a scale of over 1000m2 right in the locality, with 2 factory areas of over 2000m2, with a total investment value of over 7 billion VND.

Coming to this facility, we were really overwhelmed by the piles of ironwood, cloves, and sen wood... all legally purchased from Laos and Myanmar. Here, they produce solid clove wood panels with a width of nearly 3m, worth from 400-600 million VND/set, even some sets are worth nearly 1 billion VND, mainly made to order.

Mr. Thanh added: The facility creates jobs for over 30 workers, including a team of about 10 workers who always work on orders from all regions, specializing in making stilt houses, door frames, stairs, cupboards, wooden floors, etc. They once built a wooden house in Dien Binh commune worth over 2 billion VND. Thanks to the guaranteed reputation, the number of customers is increasing day by day. In addition to the carpentry business with an annual revenue of over 10 billion VND, Thanh also invests in importing wood from Laos and then exporting it to the Chinese market.

Starting from nothing, Dau Thanh now has a supermarket introducing wooden products and 2 large carpentry workshops, creating jobs for over 60 local workers with an income of over 5 million VND/person/month, contributing hundreds of millions of VND to the State budget. In addition to doing good business, Dau Thanh also spends tens of millions of VND every year on charity work.
