A panoramic view of the conference.
During the 2012-2013 school year, youth activities and movements nationwide closely followed the objectives and effectively implemented the program's targets. Many activities had significant educational value and widespread impact, attracting the attention of all social strata, receiving high praise from the public, and affirming the role of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization in the cause of national construction and defense; and in nurturing, caring for, and educating children and young people.
Over the past year, 100% of the Youth Union branches have launched and implemented the "Young People Doing Small Things" movement. 100% of the Youth Union branches organized quizzes, flag-raising ceremonies, created wall newspapers and photo journals, established groups for communicating children's songs, organized forums, gave talks on traditions, and met with veteran revolutionaries…
Activities such as "Contributing Stones to Build Truong Sa," "Solidarity with Border and Island Regions," and "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" have been widely implemented by youth councils in provinces and cities, attracting active participation from children nationwide. Notable examples include Hai Phong city with its "Lighting Up the Dreams of Children in the Seas and Islands" program, Kon Tum with its "Seas and Islands in My Heart" photojournalism competition, Vinh Phuc donating 1,000 flags to Truong Sa Island, Thua Thien Hue children contributing over 182 million VND to the "Contributing Stones to Build Truong Sa" program, and Binh Phuoc implementing the "Solidarity with Border and Island Regions" project worth 53 million VND...
However, the children's movement in some areas is not yet truly uniform; some rural and remote areas still face many difficulties in attracting students to participate. The staff working with the youth organization is insufficient due to frequent rotations, leading to a lack of experience among some members.
In the coming school year, the Central Youth Union Council will strengthen its guidance and direction to grassroots organizations to create a transformation in the content and methods of youth union activities and movements. It will promote the implementation of the "Thousand Good Deeds" movement; the "Small Plan" movement in the new era; and widely and effectively launch the "I Love Vietnamese History" movement; and encourage children nationwide to focus on the beloved islands and seas of the Fatherland.
On this occasion, the Youth Union Council awarded prizes to 63 youth teams from 63 provinces and cities, including 20 certificates of merit for leading teams and 43 teams with outstanding achievements.
