Direct admission of 20 students who won prizes in the national science and technology competition
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga has just sent a document to universities and colleges requesting direct admission of 20 12th grade students who won prizes in the 2013 Science and Technology Competition.
The policy is applied as for the winners of the national excellent student competition. The leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training said that in 2013, the Ministry of Education and Training organized the Science and Technology Competition for High School Students (Intel ISEF) nationwide. The results of the competition were highly appreciated by teachers in high schools, universities, colleges and society for the creativity and application of science and technology in the lives of high school students.
To encourage the movement of studying, researching and creating among students in high schools based on the request of universities and colleges, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to allow universities, academies, colleges and universities to apply point e, clause 2, Article 7 of the 2013 university and college admission regulations to 20 12th grade students who won prizes in the 2013 National Intel ISEF Competition (applying the policy to candidates who participated in the national excellent student selection competition). Specifically, 13 students who won second and third prizes will be directly admitted to universities and colleges; 7 students who won encouragement prizes will be directly admitted to colleges.
Candidates who are admitted directly to universities and colleges according to the above request must graduate from high school and apply for admission to majors in the following fields: Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computers and Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Engineering, Environment and Environmental Protection.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests that Directors of Universities, Academies and Principals of Universities and Colleges organize implementation in accordance with the above regulations to consider and decide on each candidate's school when they wish to register for admission to the school.
According to the list announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, there are 20 students who were directly admitted to universities and colleges, mostly from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Of these, 7 students won the Encouragement Prize and were directly admitted to colleges.
