4 weight loss products containing banned substances not yet licensed
On July 2, according to information from the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health), the Department has not yet licensed the weight loss products containing banned substances that Singapore has recalled.

Recently, many domestic and international media reported that Singapore recalled 4 weight loss products because they contained banned substances.
According to the Food Safety Department, on July 1, the Singapore Health Sciences Authority issued a warning about the recall of four weight loss products containing the banned substance Sibutramine.
The recalled products include: VTOX Trim up, Bonjour, Curvey Pearl Beauty Slimming Orange Juice and V12 Fruit Slimming.
Sibutramine - a pharmaceutical ingredient with weight loss effects and has been suspended from circulation in Singapore since October 2010.
In response to the above information, the Food Safety Department has reviewed licensed products.
The results of the review process show that from January 1, 2011 to present, the Food Safety Department has not issued product standard certificates or Certificates of conformity declaration or Certificates of conformity declaration of food safety regulations for the above products.
