China replaces a series of high-ranking State Council officials.

THX reported on July 23 that the State Council (Cabinet) of China announced a series of decisions appointing and replacing many officials in the government.

Accordingly, Li Zhao was appointed Vice Chairman of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission. Gong Boguang was appointed Vice Minister of Civil Affairs, replacing Dai Junliang. Wang Ning was appointed Vice Minister of Housing, Urban and Rural Development, replacing Guo Yunchong. Yu Kangzhen was appointed Vice Minister of Agriculture, replacing Gao Hongxin.

Additionally, Zhang Zhiyong became Deputy Director of the National Tax Administration, replacing Wang Li. Chen Gang and Wu Qinghai were appointed Deputy Directors of the National Quarantine, Inspection and Quality Supervision Administration, while Yang Gang, Bo Changcheng, and Liu Pingjun resigned from their positions. Wu Zhen was appointed Deputy Director of the Food and Drug Administration. Hu Kaiming was appointed Deputy Director of the Legal Affairs Office of the State Council, replacing An Jian.

In addition, the State Council also appointed Zhang Jiang and Li Peilin as vice presidents of the Academy of Social Sciences, replacing Li Shenming, Gao Quanli, and Wu Yin.

Mr. Dien The Hoanh has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Standardization Management Committee (at the vice-ministerial level), replacing Mr. Tran Cuong.

Finally, the State Council also dismissed Ding Xuedong from his position as Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council and Zheng Xiaotong from his position as Assistant Minister of Finance.
