Fire at Sacombank warehouse (Binh Duong) causes hundreds of billions of dong in damage

At noon on April 13, when the fire fighting force successfully controlled the giant fire at Sacombank General Warehouse (Song Than Industrial Park - Binh Duong), the authorities announced the initial damage of the fire.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Hoang, Deputy Head of Song Than Industrial Park Police Station, said that the fire was at warehouse lot MN1 (9,000 square meters) belonging to Sacombank General Warehouse (154,000 square meters). Warehouse lot MN1 was divided into many storage compartments, and the fire burned down goods in an area of ​​1,500 square meters of warehouse lot MN1.


On the morning of April 13, firefighters were still trying to put out the fire that was still smoldering inside the warehouse.


Preliminary statistics of the burned and completely damaged goods include 315 tons of PP plastic granules of Da Nang Chemical and Electrical Materials Joint Stock Company; 350 bales of raw rubber (total weight 11.55 tons) of Hoa Sen Vang Company; 197 chemical barrels of Tan An and Unicot Companies, and tons of fertilizer of Viet Hoa Nong Company. These are the goods that the companies mortgaged to Sacombank to borrow capital.




After the fire was extinguished, smoke still surrounded the scene of the fire many hours later.

In addition, thousands of square meters of factory and machinery were completely burned after the fire, the total damage is estimated to be up to hundreds of billions of dong.


Song Than Industrial Park Police Station said the fire broke out at around 8:30 p.m. on April 12. At that time, there were 12 security guards on duty at the warehouse. Firefighting forces and equipment were mobilized to put out the fire, but due to the excessive amount of chemicals and rubber, the fire flared up and continued to rise. At 3 a.m. on April 13, the fire was basically brought under control and at around 10 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

Authorities are currently examining the scene to find the cause.
