Vietnam wins 7 certificates of excellence in vocational skills in Leipzig.
On the evening of July 7th, at the Leipzig Trade Fair in Leipzig, Federal Republic of Germany, the 42nd WorldSkills Competition officially concluded with a modern and spectacular closing ceremony.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ngoc Phi, leaders of the General Department of Vocational Training of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese delegation of contestants attended the closing ceremony.
This year's WorldSkills competition in Leipzig saw the rise of East Asian countries, with numerous awards going to contestants from South Korea and Japan. South Korea led the overall medal count with 23 medals, including 12 gold medals.
In the ASEAN region, the Thai and Singaporean teams also won gold medals. In Europe, the Swiss team took the top spot with a total of 17 medals, including 9 gold medals. The Brazilian team, the host country of the competition in 2015, also achieved a high ranking with a total of 15 medals, including 4 gold medals.
In an interview with a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reporter in Germany, Associate Professor Dr. Cao Van Sam, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Vocational Training, said that the Vietnamese delegation participated in the competition with 13 contestants in 12 different trades. At the competition, the Vietnamese contestants demonstrated remarkable maturity and mastery of the competition. All contestants performed well in their exams and won 7 certificates of excellence in their respective trades.
According to Mr. Sam, this is the fourth consecutive time the Vietnamese delegation has participated in the World Skills Competition. By participating in this competition, the Vietnamese delegation continues to affirm its integration into global skills, demonstrating its role, capabilities, and position within ASEAN and internationally.
On this occasion, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Sam also expressed his gratitude to the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Germany, especially the Vietnamese Association in Leipzig, for their support and assistance throughout the competition.
The 2013 WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig was one of the largest ever held, with approximately 1,000 contestants from 67 countries and territories competing in 46 different skill categories, lasting for one week from July 2-7.
