(Baonghean) - "Be diligent in class, take advantage of every opportunity to practice communicating with foreigners, friends, and study online" - Dau Huy Minh (Class 5E, Le Mao Primary School) - the owner of the gold medal in the National Online English Competition held last April, shared with us the secret to learning English well.
Sitting across from me was a boy who had just finished 5th grade, wearing a neat uniform, quick-witted, articulate, intelligent and mischievous like any other boy his age. Minh's academic achievements made many people admire him: For 5 consecutive years, he was an excellent student; In the 2012-2013 school year, in addition to winning the Gold Medal in the National Online English Competition, Minh also won Second Prize in the City-level Math Competition for Children.

Minh added: "My English listening skills are still limited, so I need to study more to be able to listen and speak better."
Like many of his peers, Minh still has childhood passions. He loves reading books and newspapers, especially literary works such as “Blue Lotus”, “The Adventures of a Cricket” or history and geography books… English is a passion for Minh. “First of all, you have to be passionate about it. From there, you will find a suitable learning method. I often focus on listening to my teachers’ lectures to be able to grasp the knowledge. At home, I also spend time doing exercises, practicing listening and speaking via the internet. In addition, my family also let me attend an English center to have the opportunity to improve my knowledge and communicate with foreign teachers”, Minh “dao” revealed.
Not only good at English, Minh is also a good student in Math. In the last school year, after passing the class and school exams, he was one of 6 members representing Le Mao Primary School to participate in the city-level Math competition for children and won second prize.
Minh's academic achievements are truly admirable when I learned that, due to the nature of his work, his mother is a journalist and his father is a teacher who lives far from home, so he has to study by himself. Journalist Mai Hoa - Minh's mother said: "From a young age, Minh has trained himself to be independent, self-conscious in studying, and very punctual. Therefore, even though his parents are busy with work, they are still very confident about him." As for teacher Pham Huu Lam - Head teacher of class 5E - Le Mao Primary School (Vinh City), when talking about his little student, he had a lot of affection: "Minh is an excellent student in all subjects. He is very intelligent, eager to learn and explore new knowledge. He is cheerful, friendly with his friends and is a class monitor, loved by his classmates."
