(Baonghean.vn) -To help people in mountainous areas develop their economy by leveraging their land advantages, on May 28th, the Nghe An Provincial Livestock Breeding Center donated 72 breeding goats to people in Thanh Thuy commune and the Youth Volunteer Brigade 2 (Thanh Chuong district).

Accordingly, the Center distributed 4-5 goats to each of 15 households. These are households that are doing well financially and have the resources to care for and develop their goat herds, which can be used for large-scale breeding for other people in the region. Of the 72 goats, 70 are female and 2 are male, with an estimated total value of over 200 million VND.

Providing goat breeds to local people.

Each goat weighs between 15-25 kg, during the breeding period or while pregnant. This breed is a hybrid created by the National Institute of Animal Husbandry, crossbreeding the Bách Thảo goat and local goats. The advantages of this breed are that it is easy to care for, has few diseases, and its food source is readily available. It is currently popular in the market and easy to sell.

In addition to providing breeding stock, the Center also collaborates with the National Institute of Animal Husbandry to organize workshops and training courses on scientific and technical knowledge for farmers, ensuring the rapid development of the goat herd and generating income for them. After receiving the goats, the households sign a commitment to continue breeding them to develop their family economy and expand the herd on a larger scale.
