Vinh University: Responding to World Book and Copyright Day 2013

(Baonghean.vn) -Today (April 23), Vinh University, in collaboration with the Nguyen Thuc Hao Information and Library Center, organized a reader conference and activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 23).

With the aim of contributing to the development of reading culture in society, especially to making books and newspapers close companions for generations of students, in recent years, information and library activities and the development of reading culture in the school have always received the attention of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the units within the school. The Nguyen Thuc Hao Information and Library Center of the school constantly strives to become a truly reliable address, a place for transmitting knowledge and inspiring creativity for staff, students, and faculty.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Dinh Xuan Khoa - Rector of Vinh University, affirmed that, with the spirit of emphasizing the importance of books and knowledge in life, the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Festival is becoming a cultural and civilized activity for book lovers because reading culture is an indispensable need for civilized young citizens in today's era; and he hoped that students would build a reading habit to continuously improve their knowledge, professional skills and life skills.

During the event, the organizing committee received many constructive suggestions from readers to truly integrate reading culture into life, enhance the effectiveness of information and library activities, and contribute to improving the quality of education and scientific research at the university in the era of innovation and international integration.

At the conference, the Provincial Library, the Library of Military Region 4, the Nguyen Thuc Hao Information and Library Center, and several bookstores in Vinh City introduced some books such as "The Blue Sea, the Color of Leaves," "Life Without Limits," etc., to readers and gave away books and discount vouchers to high school and university students.
