Hoang Mai town practices protecting aquatic resources
(Baonghean.vn) -On September 14 and 15, at Quynh Phuong beach, Hoang Mai town, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Nghe An Sub-Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources and the CRSD Project Management Board to organize monitoring and practice on aquatic resources protection.
The exercise aims to raise awareness, capacity, behavior of fishermen and the ability to coordinate inspection and control of coastal fishing activities between authorities and fishing communities in coastal communes. During the exercise, two hypothetical situations were set up, typical of violations of regulations on fishing at sea, affecting the protection of coastal fisheries resources.

Situation 1: There are ships using electric shock to exploit in coastal waters of Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town.Situation 2: Fishing boats exploit aquatic products in the wrong route with high density, which can lead to fishing ground disputes in the coastal waters of Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town.
In these two situations, after receiving information from fishermen calling via phone,Hotline 18001764If the fishing vessel reports a violation, the Sub-Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources will identify and process the information; direct the Inspection Department to plan the mobilization of human resources and means to deploy promptly, quickly approach the subject to inspect, prepare a case file for handling and escort the vehicle to Con and Quen canals. At the same time, notify the Border Guard Stations 144 and 148 to coordinate in handling the violating vehicle according to the prescribed sanctions. After all work is completed, the local authorities of the violating vehicle will be notified and measures will be taken to propagate so that the fishing community does not violate again.
Thanks to careful preparation, the drill was a great success. At the end of the drill, Mr. Tran Huu Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Director of the CRSD Project Management Board also highly appreciated the spirit, responsibility, initiative and creativity in selecting content, preparing the drill location; mobilizing sufficient human resources and means; the coordination between functional agencies and local authorities was well implemented, especially contributing to raising fishermen's awareness of protecting aquatic resources./.
