Rare Quan Vo Dai hat of Le dynasty discovered

A rare ancient hat of a military mandarin of the Le Dynasty was recently found by a group of experts from the Ha Tinh Museum at the Vo family's ancestral temple in Yen Ho commune (Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh).

The ancient hat is made of precious wood covered with gilded lacquer, 25cm high, consisting of two parts, the upper part of the hat is rectangular, the front is carved with decorative patterns of the sun, surrounded by stylized dragon and cloud motifs, gilded lacquer, the lower part of the hat is oval, in the middle are tiger-shaped patterns and two dragons facing each other. The bottom of the hat is circular, 20cm in diameter, surrounded by symmetrically connected asterisk patterns. The decorative motifs on the hat are covered with ancient gilded lacquer, beautiful and sophisticated in shape.

In addition to this ancient hat, at the Vo family temple, the family and descendants also preserve valuable treasures that have existed for hundreds of years, such as royal decrees, genealogies, large characters, parallel sentences, and rare ancient artifacts.

It is known that the Vo family temple, formerly in Yen Ho commune, La Son district, Duc Tho prefecture, now in Yen Ho commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, worships two military generals, two high-ranking mandarins of the Le dynasty (1428-1433), who were also father and son. The father was Vo Uy, the son was Vo Luc, who followed King Le Loi in the early days of the resistance war against the invading Ming army, early 15th century (1418-1428), was awarded the title of An My Hau Tuy Quoc Cong and one of the founding mandarins of the Le dynasty was granted the national surname Le (the king's surname).
