Opening of the 2nd Nghe Tinh Vi Dam Folk Song Festival and receiving the Certificate of National Cultural Heritage recognition.

(Baonghean.vn) - As part of a series of activities towards the recognition of Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk songs by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, on the evening of August 17, at the cultural center of Ha Tinh city, a solemn ceremony was held to receive the certificate of recognition as a national cultural heritage and to open the 2nd Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk song festival - 2013.

(Baonghean.vn) - As part of a series of activities towards the recognition of Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk songs by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, on the evening of August 17, at the cultural center of Ha Tinh city, a solemn ceremony was held to receive the certificate of recognition as a national cultural heritage and to open the 2nd Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk song festival - 2013.

Attending the event were comrades: journalist Thuan Huu, member of the Party Central Committee - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, Nguyen Hoa Binh - member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Procuracy, Vo Trong Viet - member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard, Nguyen The Ky - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were comrades: Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Dinh Xuan Viet - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vo Kim Cu - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.



Leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces received the National Cultural Heritage Certificate for Nghe Tinh Vi Giam folk songs.

Nghe An Vi-Dam folk songs are a cultural heritage crystallized from the thousands of years of working, producing and fighting life of the people on the Hong River Lam mountain range. This type of folk performing art contains the soul, emotions, wisdom, talent and cultural identity of the people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, who are industrious, intelligent and creative. The festival is an opportunity for Vi-Dam folk song clubs in the two provinces to meet, exchange and share experiences.

After the opening speech of the leaders of Ha Tinh province, the Organizing Committee announced the decision to recognize Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk songs as a national intangible cultural heritage. This is the State's recognition of the efforts to promote and preserve folk heritage over the years by generations of artists, artisans and people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. In today's life, Vi-Giam folk songs still have a strong vitality and continue to be passed on, preserved and promoted by many measures. The people of the two provinces have been making efforts step by step to give wings to folk songs and Vi-Giam to develop and last over the years.

The highlight of the opening night was the art program “Doi bo vi, dam” with the participation of artists and actors from: Ha Tinh Traditional Art Theater, Nghe An Folk Theater. The art program consisted of 3 parts: Doi bo vi dam - recreating the daily life of a traditional folk culture. Part 2 is called “Vi dam thuong” with many adapted ancient melodies such as: Lay Kieu and Xam Kieu, Hat Khuyen… “Moon Season of Lam River, La River” is the last part of the art program to introduce songs developed from folk songs and vi dam.

The Nghe An Vi Dam Folk Song Festival 2013 took place from August 17, gathering over 450 actors and artists from 21 clubs, including 7 folk song clubs from Nghe An province. The festival will close on the evening of August 19 at the Cultural Center, Ha Tinh City./.
