Promoting multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Haiti
On the afternoon of July 24, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Mr. Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance and Minister of Industry and Trade of Haiti, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

Also joining the Haitian delegation to Vietnam were Haitian Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Jacques Thomas and leaders of several Haitian ministries and sectors.
Welcoming the working visit to Vietnam of Minister of Economy and Finance and Minister of Industry and Trade Wilson Laleau and leaders of several ministries and sectors of Haiti, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to work with Haiti to effectively implement cooperation agreements in the fields that the two sides have agreed upon, for the practical benefit of the common development of both countries.
According to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Vietnam and Haiti have a traditional friendship; economic cooperation between the two countries has achieved initial commendable results in recent times, but the potential and advantages for cooperation between Vietnam and Haiti in the economic field in particular and many other fields are still very large.
Therefore, the two sides need to further strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels, thereby exchanging, agreeing, and promoting specific cooperation activities between the two countries in various fields. Vietnam is always ready to share its experience in socio-economic development with Haiti; at the same time, it always encourages and creates favorable conditions for its enterprises to invest in Haiti in the spirit of equality and mutual benefit.
The Prime Minister affirmed his readiness to promote trade exchange activities with Haiti, especially the exchange of goods and products that are considered strengths of Vietnam and that Haiti has demand for.
Minister Wilson Laleau said that Haiti will make every effort, together with Vietnamese ministries and sectors, to promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially those with great potential and advantages for cooperation. He also hopes that Vietnam will share good experiences and good models with Haiti in management, socio-economic development, education and training, and vocational training for workers.
Minister Wilson Laleau hopes that the Vietnamese Government and relevant agencies will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to come to Haiti to survey and seek investment opportunities. For its part, Haiti always welcomes Vietnamese enterprises to cooperate, invest and do business in Haiti for the long term, especially in areas where Vietnam has strengths such as construction, textiles, agriculture, telecommunications, maritime transport, etc.
Minister Wilson Laleau also suggested that the two sides further strengthen trade exchanges; at the same time, he affirmed that Haiti is ready to be the gateway for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the Central and South American regions./.
