Located in the mountainous border region of western Nghe An province, Ky Son has long been known for its harsh climate. The Truong Son mountain range, as it passes through this area, creates significant differences in weather and hydrology. Winter temperatures in the mountainous Ky Son region are always only about half that of the lowlands. Nevertheless, these natural characteristics have given this land its own unique features.
