Mali boat capsizes, 200 people missing.

A ferry carrying hundreds of passengers traveling along the Niger River in central Mali capsized, leaving nearly 200 passengers missing.

Local authorities said that by noon on October 12, 20 bodies had been recovered and only 210 passengers out of approximately 400 on board the ship at the time of the accident had been rescued.

Families of the victims in Mali's capital, Bamako, said they had received information and confirmed the bodies of their loved ones.

The ship met with disaster while carrying passengers to the northern town of Timbuktu.
