Provincial People's Committee directs to resolve the issue raised by the newspaper

(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper on September 17, 2013 published an article: "Lack of seriousness in directing the implementation of legal regulations: The disease of "overcharging" in schools is "resistant to medicine" reflecting: Entering the new school year, the problem of "overcharging" in schools is becoming a concern for the whole society. Every year, the Department of Education and Training organizes inspections of the implementation of fees collected at the beginning of the school year, however, the handling after inspection and examination has not been thoroughly directed. In implementing circulars and official dispatches of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as documents of the Provincial People's Committee, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has quickly specified and issued quite strict guidance and regulations, but educational institutions in the area have not properly implemented those documents. Many localities and authorities from commune to district level have not considered the fight against overcharging in schools as their job.

After reviewing the content of the newspaper, on October 1, 2013, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 6920/UBND-VX requesting the Director of the Department of Education and Training to direct the inspection of the issue raised by the newspaper. If the issue reported by the newspaper is correct, the Department of Education and Training, according to its assigned functions and tasks, will direct relevant units to strengthen management and overcome the above situation; at the same time, consider handling or recommend competent agencies to consider and handle organizations and individuals who violate the collection of fees at the beginning of the school year at schools in the province.

Report to the Provincial People's Committee the results of the handling and send them to the Department of Information and Communications before October 15, 2013.
