(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 2, at Vinh University, the Student Association Congress for the 2013-2018 term took place. Attending the congress were comrade Bui Quang Huy - Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association; Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Principal of the school.

Previously, on the first working day, Student Union delegates came to offer incense, flowers and report to Uncle Ho at Ho Chi Minh Square.

Nghe An Provincial Student Association has nearly 25,000 members. During the past term, the Association at all levels has closely followed and effectively implemented the Congress Resolution and the school year's work program, the two major movements "5 good students" and "students build a friendly and healthy educational environment" achieved many good results.

After 5 years of implementation, the movement has gradually developed extensively, becoming the goal of the majority of students; increasingly becoming more practical and creating a vibrant emulation movement; The movement "students build a friendly and healthy educational environment" was concretized by the Association with groups of criteria, building a vibrant academic environment, closely linked to real life; building a clean and green environment, free of drugs and social evils, and healthy entertainment. The movement has created an environment for students to strive to achieve the title of "5 good students".

During the term, the Provincial Student Association honored nearly 1,200 delegates who won the “January Star” award and the title of “5 Good Students” at the grassroots level; nearly 300 provincial students and 22 students won the “January Star” award and the title of “5 Good Students” at the central level. Orientation work, moral education, and lifestyle for students are focused on by the Association at all levels. There have been activities in coordination with the Youth Union at all levels to effectively implement the movement to build a cultural lifestyle in schools, study sessions on young heroes and martyrs, and activities to honor good examples among students, creating a good training environment and lifestyle orientation for students.

The congress also approved the report on the direction of activities for the 2013-2018 term with the slogan of action: "Nghe An students study - create - volunteer - integrate". The congress approved the target of 100% of student associations at all levels having student works and projects; 100% of school-level student associations organizing activities to Light up dreams associated with studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh; launching the 5-good student movement; launching volunteer activities such as "Supporting exam season" and "Humanitarian blood donation".

After 2 working days, the congress elected a new executive committee, comrade Duong Hoang Vu - Member of the Central Secretariat of the Vietnam Student Association as Chairman of the Provincial Student Association, term 2013 - 2018.

Awarding certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the past term

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association awarded certificates of merit to 6 groups and 5 individuals with achievements in the Association's work and student movement during the 2007-2013 term.
