Nghi Yen Solid Waste Treatment Complex has been in operation since September 2011 and is currently directly collecting and treating waste in the entire Vinh city area, Cua Lo town, Quan Hanh town and part of Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan districts. The solid waste treatment capacity is nearly 300 tons/day. According to voters' feedback, the operation and treatment of waste at the complex is polluting the surrounding environment, affecting people's lives and production. At the meeting, all sectors and units confirmed that the environmental pollution and voters' recommendations from the complex are real. The situation of water and waste from manholes in the complex still overflows when it rains. The process of spraying insecticide to kill flies and some waste treatment processes are not guaranteed and do not meet the requirements when discharged into the environment. The process of operating and treating waste at the complex still causes incidents that cause environmental pollution...

Continue to supplement funding to complete items to ensure proper operation such as the regulating pond, aeration system; at the same time, arrange enough approved operating funds so that the unit has operating funds, especially to invest in materials, chemical preparations for waste treatment, leachate treatment according to standards, reducing environmental pollution... In particular, Hung Dong landfill needs to have on-site treatment measures or move the current volume of waste gathered to the Nghi Yen waste treatment complex for treatment.
