Barca’s failure to bring their best squad to Germany had led many to predict another “suppression” by Bayern. But no one expected Barca to be so stuck. At the Allianz Stadium, they played like a lower-class club, completely bewildered and without a concrete plan.

In the 85th minute, from Contento's cross, Mandzukic scored a sensitive shot to seal a 2-0 victory for Bayern.
