Effectiveness of communication work
(Baonghean) -Nghia Thang is a mountainous commune, 16 km west of Nghia Dan district center, ethnic minorities account for 53%, the educational level is uneven, people's lives are still difficult. Determining that population work directly affects the socio-economic development of the locality, the commune Party Committee and government actively participate in population work.
Every year, the commune develops a reproductive health care plan for women of childbearing age, closely and strictly controls and monitors population changes to promptly adjust policies accordingly. Over the past 10 years, over 1,400 people have received reproductive health care and family planning. The natural population growth rate has always been maintained at 0.5 - 0.8%. For many years, the commune has had no one giving birth to a third child, including one hamlet achieving the title of "10 consecutive years without a third child" and two hamlets "7 consecutive years without a third child".

To achieve that result, the Party Committee and the government have given strong direction in innovating communication work. The Commune Population Committee coordinated with the Women's Union to provide reproductive health care advice and contraceptive measures for women of childbearing age; launched clubs in hamlets with high birth rates such as: "No third child" Club, "Building a prosperous, happy, and equal family" Club... At the same time, changing the communication methods and objects.
If in the past, women were the main target in the work of mobilizing the implementation of family planning measures, in recent years, the Commune Population Committee has paid more attention to the role of men. Effectively implementing home counseling for couples of childbearing age, providing more knowledge for women in choosing appropriate contraceptive measures. At the same time, promoting the role of prestigious people in the community, the role of the Elderly Association in mobilizing children and grandchildren to implement population policies.
The implementation of the Population Ordinance has contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of the commune with a total production value of 153,817 million VND in the period of 2003 - 2013, the average economic growth rate for the whole period reached over 9.4%/year, the average income per capita reached over 6 million VND/year. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, many families have the conditions to develop the economy, "raise healthy children, teach good children", build a cultured, prosperous, equal, progressive and happy family.
