Re-established and separated from Song Be province in 1997, Binh Phuoc province is designated as a key economic region in the South, sharing a border with Cambodia, connecting with the Central Highlands provinces, Lam Dong, and Binh Duong, and located 110 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Over the years, Binh Phuoc province has intensified its efforts to attract investment, exploit its potential advantages, and develop its socio-economic sector. When it was first separated, the province had only one foreign enterprise and 181 domestic enterprises; today, it has attracted 103 foreign investment projects and has 3,720 domestic enterprises operating effectively.
Binh Phuoc province has established five industrial zones and one Hoa Lu border economic zone. The province focuses on developing long-term industrial crops such as rubber, cashew nuts, coffee, and pepper, linked to processing and export. The province also pays close attention to the fields of culture, education, health, national defense and security, and foreign affairs.

Located in the central part of the North Central region, Nghe An province serves as a bridge between the North and South of Vietnam and as a gateway to the East Sea for Central Laos and Northeast Thailand. Nghe An boasts comprehensive transportation networks including roads, railways, air routes, sea routes, and inland waterways; it has Vinh Airport and Cua Lo seaport, which is planned as a regional Class I hub port.
As the starting point of the "Central Vietnam Heritage Route," Nghe An boasts many beautiful beaches and the Western Nghe An World Biosphere Reserve, home to numerous primeval forests and fascinating ecological zones. Nghe An's natural resources are rich and diverse, with over 600,000 hectares of unused land, 650,000 hectares of forest, and various mineral resources.
Based on that, the leaders of Nghe An and Binh Phuoc provinces exchanged experiences in attracting investment and agreed to strengthen cooperation and coordinate efforts to promote and encourage potential businesses to invest. Initially, they could call for businesses to invest in Nghe An province in several areas such as: high-tech agricultural development, food technology (meat, vegetables, fruits...). Regarding industry, they will attract projects to the Southeast Economic Zone and industrial parks in the North Nghe An - South Thanh Hoa region in the fields of textiles, construction materials, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic equipment, supporting industrial products... and tourism development projects; while also creating conditions for people from Nghe An to work and have stable long-term employment in Binh Phuoc.
