Nguyen Linh Chi is the daughter of Nguyen Dinh Nam and Trinh Ngoc Thuy - residing in Group 67, Nguyen Thai Hoc Ward, Yen Bai City, Yen Bai Province. Nguyen Linh Chi, her younger brother Nguyen Dinh Dung and their father all suffered from the effects of Agent Orange from their grandfather, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Sanh - former Commander of the Yen Bai Provincial Military Command. Due to the effects of Agent Orange, Nguyen Linh Chi was born with no arms or legs, while Nguyen Dinh Nam and Nguyen Dinh Dung suffered from blood allergies.

8 years since her birth, overcoming countless difficulties and mixed opinions from society, Nguyen Linh Chi and her family have always tried to help her integrate into the community and be able to do many things for herself.

Up to now, thanks to the help of philanthropists and good doctors, Chi has been given prosthetic limbs to create better conditions for her study and daily life.
