With 68.3% of the votes, Cong Vinh was named the best player in Southeast Asia in a poll launched by Goal.com.

Cong Vinh has become the best player in Southeast Asia.

This poll was initiated by Goal.com on July 30th and ended on Sunday night (August 4th).

In this poll, Công Vinh consistently led from the very beginning. On Facebook, the striker from Nghệ An himself also called on fans to vote for him.

This poll had a minor hiccup when, at 4 PM on July 31st, Công Vinh was unexpectedly overtaken by Visay Phaphouvanin (Laos), who jumped to 90% of the polls. However, just a few hours later, Goal.com confirmed that this was an unusual number and suggested that hackers had interfered. Therefore, the votes for Visay Phaphouvanin were not accepted.
