Nghe An is a province located in the center of the North Central region, on the North-South and East-West exchange routes, convenient for exchanges with provinces and cities in the country, the region and internationally; 300 km south of Hanoi and 1,400 km north of Ho Chi Minh City; Nghe An has all the traffic routes of road, rail, air, sea and inland waterways; is a bridge between the North and South and a gateway to the East Sea of Central Laos and the Northeast of Thailand through Cua Lo seaport and Dong Hoi port. Nghe An province has 21 district-level administrative units including Vinh city - a type 1 urban area (economic and cultural center of the province); 3 towns and 17 districts.
Nghe An has the largest area in the country, with nearly 16,500 km2; rich and diverse terrain, with sea, plains, midlands and mountains; rich and diverse natural resources, with many types of minerals such as: tin, manganese, gold, precious stones, white stones, granite....; has large land and abundant raw materials for industrial processing such as: sugar cane production, dairy cows, tea, pineapple...; 82 km long coastline, large sea surface area; these are potentials for developing processing industry, forest and marine economy.
Being the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh - a world cultural celebrity, the starting point of the "Central Heritage Road", with many beautiful beaches, the world biosphere reserve in the west of Nghe An has been recognized by UNESCO with many primeval forests and attractive ecological zones... Nghe An has all the conditions to become a key tourist destination of the country and the region. Nghe An's population ranks fourth in the country with nearly 3.2 million people, with a tradition of studiousness and excellent learning, diligence, creativity, and success in various fields in the country and in the world. Currently, Nghe An has 5 universities, 8 colleges, 15 secondary schools training technical workers and 70 vocational training centers, annually training more than 35 thousand students and about 50 thousand technical workers. Among them is the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College, with support from ODA capital from the Korean Government, which is one of the leading vocational schools in the country and is reaching the regional and Asian level.
Since 1999, the school has annually provided 800 to 1,000 students with intermediate and college vocational qualifications to the labor market, including many Korean enterprises. Since 1996, there have been 9,990 Nghe An people studying and working in Korea.
In recent years, Nghe An's socio-economic situation has continued to develop relatively rapidly and comprehensively. The average GDP growth rate in 2006-2010 reached 9.54%, and in 2011 it reached 10.5%; Budget revenue in 2012 ranked 15th in the country, the highest compared to other provinces in the North Central region for many consecutive years. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, gradually increasing the proportion of industry and services; culture and society have increasingly progressed, the political situation is stable, national defense, security, and social order and safety are maintained; social security activities are cared for and have many changes; the material and spiritual life of the people has gradually improved.

The Vietnam-Korea strategic cooperative partnership is developing to a new height based on historical and cultural similarities, mutual respect and trust tested over time. These new contexts and factors have opened up new opportunities for investment and business cooperation between the two countries. Currently, Korea has 11 investment projects in Nghe An with a registered capital of nearly 61 million USD; leading the countries investing in Nghe An in terms of the number of projects. Many Korean enterprises and investors are still continuing to survey and seek investment and business opportunities in Nghe An.
The initial successes of these enterprises and investors are an encouragement for other Korean enterprises and investors to come to Nghe An in the coming time. In the orientation of socio-economic development in the following years, Nghe An continues to attach importance to attracting foreign direct investment, especially from Korea, as an important solution to create resources to strive to make Nghe An a fairly developed province of the country by 2015; basically become an industrial province by 2020.
Nghe An province always appreciates the quality and investment efficiency of Korean investors. This conference is the most specific and sincere invitation to you with the message "Nghe An - Ideal destination for Korean investors". I hope that through this conference, Korean businesses and investors will understand more about the people and the potential land of Nghe An so that in the coming time, Korean investment in Nghe An will not only increase in quantity but also increase in scale, quality and investment efficiency.
With the motto of accompanying businesses, we commit to consistently implementing the issued policies, preparing clean land funds and infrastructure in economic zones and industrial parks; preparing human resources, upgrading airports, ports, roads, railways and ancillary services for investors to invest most effectively. The success of many businesses and investment projects in Nghe An in recent times is the most vivid evidence and motivation for the community of Korean businesses and investors to decide to come to Nghe An.
