The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just allowed Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company to reduce the manganese content in its exported refined ore.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has allowed Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company to export 42,571 tons of manganese with a manganese content ranging from 18% to 28%, instead of the previous requirement of ≥ 30%.

Previously, on May 31, 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade agreed with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to allow Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company to export a maximum of 42,571 tons of manganese concentrate with a content of ≥ 30%.

This is the amount of manganese in stock at this company in 2012.

However, Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company argues that the ore veins currently being exploited by the company are dispersed, with a low average content of raw ore (approximately 5% Mn), so the product obtained after beneficiation only has a Mn content of 18% to 28%.

For this reason, in 2009, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province agreed to allow Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company to export 30,000 tons of manganese concentrate with a manganese content of 18% to 28%.

Following feedback from Ha Tinh Manganese Mineral Joint Stock Company, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has agreed to adjust and reduce the manganese content of 42,571 tons of manganese concentrate permitted for export as mentioned above.
