Comrades: Thai Khac Thu - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications chaired the conference.

Evaluating press activities in October, local press agencies made great efforts in information and propaganda. In addition to deeply reflecting political events such as: the 50th anniversary of the founding of Vinh city, the funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the 45th anniversary of the Truong Bon victory, newspapers focused on propagating the overcoming of consequences caused by storm No. 10, socio-economic development activities; security and order protection and weaknesses and inadequacies in management work in the area.

The conference also pointed out that the direction of handling the issues recently raised by the press has not received due attention. Although the Provincial People's Committee has issued 8 directive documents, there are still many urgent and prominent issues that have been reported by newspapers and radio stations but have not been directed to handle such as: The issue of administrative boundary disputes between the border communes of Anh Son and Do Luong districts, violations in financial collection and expenditure in some schools, the lack of production land for some people in mountainous areas, the women's association taking advantage of the "Campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods" to conduct business under the guise of, etc.

To further strengthen press activities, the conference suggested that the province should resolutely direct the handling of issues raised by the press; press agencies need to uphold their responsibilities, in addition to promoting the reflection of events and activities in the area to ensure objectivity and honesty, but not allowing bad guys to take advantage and continue to propagate and refute false information from hostile forces.
