NATO stops using main supply route in Pakistan
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has just announced that it has temporarily suspended the use of an important land supply route in Pakistan due to the outbreak of protests against US drone attacks in Pakistan.
Instead, NATO will use other routes through other parts of Pakistan and Central Asia. However, the cost of transporting through these routes is very expensive.

US drone strikes in Pakistan have long been a source of tension between the two countries, with Pakistan accusing the US of carrying out airstrikes that have killed scores of civilians.
In early November, the US carried out a drone strike that killed a Taliban leader in Pakistan. The incident took place in the context of the Pakistani government and the Taliban preparing to promote peace talks.
In response to the US action, pro-opposition elements in Pakistan blocked the delivery of supplies to the US-led coalition in neighboring Afghanistan.
Currently, the Pakistani government has not yet taken any measures to deal with the interference of opposition supporters.
